This cross-sectional analysis of pooled data from multiple studies was used to develop and validate a new equation, the CKD-EPI (Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration) equation, to predict GFR. The CKD-EPI equation appears to be more precise and accurate than the MDRD Study equation, especially at higher GFRs.
