They were subsequently put on a maintenance regimen of low-dose steroids and azathioprine.  All patients achieved clinical remission within six weeks. Five patients relapsed at a median of 30 months.  Adverse events included one severe drug reaction and one serious infection.  This regimen may be considered in the creation of steroid minimizing regimen.</div>
