This study examined the data from both the Frequent Hemodialysis Network Daily and Nocturnal Trials to determine the effects of more frequent dialysis on residual kidney function. Although limited by small number, there is clear evidence that frequent nocturnal hemodialysis was associated with more rapid loss of residual kidney function. The data is so far indeterminate for frequent daily hemodialysis.
